for the upcoming 2005-2006 season.
THE FEE FOR A FLU IMMUNIZATION IS $25.00. PNEUMONIA IS $30.00. THERE IS NO CHARGE
IF YOU SHOW YOUR MEDICARE (PART B) OR MEDICAID CARD. ALL CLINICS ARE WALK IN ONLY AND NO APPOINTMENT IS NEEDED.
The Fulton County Health Department has scheduled four flu immunization clinics in November.
These flu clinics are open to persons 19 years of age and older. No appointment is needed to obtain the flu vaccination.All clinics are walk in and persons will be served on a first come first serve basis
until the vaccine supply is gone. Clinics will be held:
CDC FLU GUIDELINES FOR AT RISK POPULATIONS:
- Adults aged 65 years and older
- Persons aged 19-64 years with underlying chronic medical conditions; such as heart disease;
kidney disease, lung diseases, diabetes, anemia, weakened immune system, neuromuscular disorders that can cause breathing problems
- Pregnant women
- Health care workers involved in direct patient care
- Caregiver and household contacts of children aged less then 6 months
Children between ages 6 months up to 19 years should make an appointment by calling the
health department at 647-1134 extension 254. Persons who have had a pneumonia vaccine must present a doctor's order at the time of their visit.
